Equity Poker Network Acts Fast to Shut Down Fraud

Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, (September 29, 2014) – Some quick action from the Fraud and Security Team at Equity Poker Network (EPN) has successfully shut down an isolated incidence of collusion between four Network player account holders. The Team identified the suspicious conduct between the four players, who more specifically have been caught engaged in the fraudulent activity of “Chip Dumping”.

On Monday, September 22, 2014, EPN Operator 5Dimes informed the EPN Management Team that a very large sum of funds was incorrectly credited to the online account of one of their players. The mistaken transaction occurred on September 17.

Since receiving the information, EPN’s Security and Fraud Team began monitoring the 5Dimes player’s online gameplay, and subsequently identified suspicious activity occurring between him and three new Full Flush Poker (FFP) player accounts, which were registered on September 18.

Following further investigation and analysis of the hand histories of the four questionable accounts, it has been determined that the 5Dimes player had been dumping chips consistently to the three FFP players - who in turn have attempted to withdraw thousands of dollars from their player accounts. It is clear that the three FFP accounts were set up for the sole purpose of cashing out as much of the misappropriated funds as possible.

EPN’s Security and Fraud Team has been quick to act, moving to disable all four fraudulent accounts, and confiscating the money from the three flagged FFP accounts. The reclaimed funds have now been returned to their rightful owner, the 5Dimes Group.

Integrity and security have been key features emphasized at EPN since launch, and the Network’s swift response to this isolated episode of fraud is further evidence that this still rings true of the Network today.

“The welfare of our players remains our number one priority, and we will not tolerate cheating or any other form of fraud occurring on EPN. We take all necessary precautions to safeguard our Network, and to protect our players and the integrity of their bankrolls. Our Fraud Team has worked diligently to identify this irregularity, and to deal with the perpetrators quickly and permanently,” said an EPN Spokesperson.
